Research Development Support
The Sustainability Research Hub supports researchers in developing competitive proposals, building interdisciplinary collaborations and partnerships, and pursuing strategic funding opportunities. Our team provides research development support throughout the proposal process, from early-stage planning and team formation through proposal development, review, and refinement.
We work collaboratively with investigators, research administrators, and other campus partners to coordinate the people, resources, and expertise needed to move complex proposals forward. Support is tailored to the needs, scope, and timeline of each project.
What to Expect
Every proposal is different. After you fill out our intake form, we’ll schedule an initial conversation to learn about your project, timeline, collaborators, funding opportunity, and support needs. From there, we’ll work with you to identify the most appropriate level of research development support and connect the right members of our team. Collaboration & Partnerships
We help identify research partners and collaborators on campus and beyond, facilitate introductions, and support new connections that strengthen interdisciplinary research teams.
Proposal Development Coordination
We help keep complex proposals organized and on track by coordinating timelines, meetings, team communication, and sponsor requirements. We also work closely with departmental, divisional, and college research administrators to coordinate administrative components through submission.
Data Visualization and Graphics
Our scientific illustrator works with research teams to translate complex ideas, data, workflows, and conceptual models into clear, compelling visuals that strengthen proposal narratives.
Proposal Writing & Narrative Development
We work with investigators to develop clear, compelling proposal narratives aligned with sponsor priorities and review criteria. Support may include refining proposal sections, integrating contributions from collaborators, and strengthening the overall story and argument.
Proofreading & Editing
We provide editorial review as proposals near completion, with attention to grammar, clarity, consistency, formatting, page limits, and sponsor requirements.
Mock Review Panel Coordination
We coordinate mock review panels that provide constructive feedback on proposal clarity, significance, and competitiveness, helping investigators identify strengths and opportunities for improvement before submission.
